The music video follows the character’s spiritual journey and his personal growth. Set against a black theatrical backdrop, a powerful story comes to life. Freedom Candlemaker
Freedom Candlemaker is the literal English translation of Greek Cypriot singer-songwriter Lefteris Moumtzis’ name, while it also perfectly captures the essence of his music—relaxed, inviting, and full of warmth. He studied music in Boston, Massachusetts, and later in Birmingham, UK, before spending several years in London, where he formed bands such as Masters of Disguise and Trio Tekke, and curated his own music nights across South London.
In his official debut album, Beaming Light (2019), under the moniker Freedom Candlemaker, he represented the peak of his long and diverse musical journey, crafted with the intention of sharing his sound with a broader, international audience. In this record that glows with warmth and openness, the artist blends lush synth textures and guitar-driven arrangements with his signature thoughtful songwriting, creating an atmosphere that feels both dreamy and nostalgic. Central to it are themes of spirituality, empathy, and the quest for inner peace—achieved through transformation, growth, and self-discovery.
In 2025, the artist returns with Ageless, exploring themes of vulnerability, the release from societal conditioning, and a return to a timeless inner truth. Crafted over four years in studios across Cyprus, Athens, London, and Utrecht, the album is a powerful step forward in his ongoing musical and spiritual evolution. It weaves together elements of neo-psychedelia, atmospheric rock, and avant-garde textures to create vast sonic landscapes. Each track serves as a deeply personal meditation on self-discovery, healing, and transformation. The album features standout collaborations with celebrated musicians, including drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear, Sons of Kemet) and acclaimed Greek violinists Fiotis Siotas and Dimitris Foken. The album unfolds through lush synthscapes, soulful grooves, and finely woven string arrangements, delivering a deeply layered and immersive sonic journey.
Aside from his solo releases (“Gold”, “I Am Love”, “The Win”, “Resurrection”) and various collaborations, he’s been also the founder of independent label Louvana Records and the artistic director of Fengaros Music Festival, Music Village Fengaros and Lefkosia Loop Festival.
Through his constantly evolving sound and sincere introspection, Freedom Candlemaker invites listeners to look within, seek clarity, and realign with their true selves in a world filled with noise and distraction.
