Kandè
With her captivating songwriting and soul-rooted voice, Kandè steadily establishes her presence in the indie music scene of Athens.
Born Katerina Andreou in Piraeus city, Attica, she completed her studies at the National School of Dance (KSOT), followed by Theatre studies at the University of Peloponnese, before becoming a professional dancer, having participated in many musicals, with the last being “The Phantom of the Opera” in 2019. In the meantime, she cultivated her musical ability to move across styles including soul, nu disco, and alt-pop, favoring of mellow, early 00s grooves.
Kandè makes music since 2022, offering an emotional lyrical content about dead ends in love and life, and trying to make her own way, in a streetwise, wise-beyond-her-years perspective, and with a variance in tempo. In 2023 she performed at Release Athens Festival, where she shared the stage with Rosalía, Tinashe, and Ayra Starr, being the only Greek act of that day.
After releasing a handful of promising singles that put her on the map, Kandè is currently working on her debut album via Mellowsophy Records, expected to arrive in 2024.
