Zen Rock: Wellness Retreat in Mani, Greece

Greece has established itself as a sought-after wellness travel destination where visitors can blend their love for Greece and its beautiful natural attributes with regenerative wellness practices. An increasing number of spas and health retreats have emerged, both on the islands and the mainland, catering to travelers seeking experiences more meaningful than sunbathing and ouzo drinking. These retreats offer visitors the chance to immerse in Greece’s natural splendor, rich cuisine, and cultural or sports adventures, all while nourishing their mind, body, and soul.

The best of these health retreats serve the most demanding and eclectic of wellness travelers by offering top-notch facilities and services. From the use of organic, hypoallergenic bedding and luxurious pillow and designer decor to remarkable organic or farm-to-table* culinary experiences crafted from locally sourced, seasonal, home-grown ingredients, every aspect of a stay is thoughtfully curated. These retreats offer wellness programs that are often truly transformative, offering a range of exercise, dietary, and spiritual practices to help visitors recharge, detoxify and reset.

Surrounded by the dramatic, rugged terrain indigenous to the area, Zen Rocks is one of the best options of this kind. The innovative retreat center, comprising eight traditional Maniot-style stone villas; a restaurant; a large, sea-facing yoga deck; and a cloud-shaped outdoor pool, is designed to offer a sense of being on holiday while also feeling perfectly at home. With breathtaking sea views and aromatic gardens filled with organic produce, fruits, flowers, olive trees, and herbs, it offers a memorable connection to nature, and guests can relax on their terraces looking out to extensive open views.

Zen Rocks is the culmination of decades of research around all of Greece and extraordianry dedication by yoga teacher and NYSY Studios owner Vivi Letsou and her husband. After a tireless search, the couple found their perfect location in the splendid and historically rich region of Mani, where the stark and exceptional beauty of the cobalt sea, mountains, thick olive groves, and authentic villages converged. Vivi envisioned Zen Rocks as a holistic wellness center where guests could connect with nature, express their creativity, and join a community through practices such as yoga, Pilates, fitness boot camps, free diving combined with Zen meditation, mindfulness, and more. It’s no surprise that visitors like to return again and again for workshops and for the feeling of belonging to this unique place.

Each villa here can accommodate up to three to four guests in separate rooms, featuring en suite bathrooms and a shared kitchen. The accommodations blend rustic, cozy charm and modern, airy design, with earthy, calming tones and minimal but very comfortable furnishings, including trendy Cocomat mattresses and fluffy duck feather duvets.

Nestled in a serene location, Zen Rocks offers a tranquil escape from the outer world without feeling cut off. During their stay, guests have free time to take off by car or on foot to explore the nearby beaches of Kitries and Sadova, the scenic town of Kardamili, and the Peloponnesian capital of Kalamata. With just the right balance of seclusion and accessibility, Zen Rocks offers a singular and truly reviving experience.
