“Khorumi,” from Tamta’s 2024 EP “THE VILLAIN”, builds on the rhythm of a traditional Georgian war dance, showing what happens when centuries-old heritage collides with cutting-edge electronics. It’s no coincidence — Tbilisi’s thriving techno scene has been shaking up the country in recent years.

Tamta
Innovative singer/songwriter/producer and fashion icon Tamta unites her talents into art and music that ignores genre in favor of emotional impact.
From a very early stage in her career, Tamta carved out a personal style that stood lightyears apart from what most of her peers in the Greek music scene — even within mainstream pop — would dare to experiment with. Her bold, eccentric aesthetic wasn’t just for show; it was often a direct (and sometimes subtle) reflection of her artistic restlessness — a creative energy that could never be fully contained within the limits of the traditional Greek pop landscape.
It’s no coincidence she was one of the first to jump on the trap wave, way back in 2019, with the hit “Senorita” alongside SNIK — a massive crossover success on both streaming and radio. The track didn’t just put trap on Greek FM; it proved, once again, that Tamta was always ready to take risks and open doors most Greek pop stars wouldn’t even dare to knock on.
By 2020’s Awake, Tamta is fully in her international pop era — dabbling in everything from the Latin pop wave making a global comeback to unapologetic autotune. She’s still flirting with trap too, teaming up with Mente Fuerte and IAMSTRONG for a few genre-bending moments. But the real plot twist comes in 2021, when she links up with Die Arkitekt. Their first single “Face” isn’t just a left turn — it’s basically her RSVP to the weird, wonderful world of avant-garde electronic pop.
Identity Crisis seals her collaboration with Ody Icons, who signs off on most of the album’s lyrics, completing a trio (alongside Die Arkitekt) that — from the very first glance — feels like a dream team for anyone with ears tuned to anything fresh, bold, and experimental, no matter where it comes from. It was that album that Tamta pretty much claimed Vathi Square and SMUT in spring 2024 — aka the closest thing Athens has right now to a Berlin-style underground techno bunker. And what goes down there with her crew? Yeah, this isn’t your typical Greek pop star live show. This takes guts, vision, and zero fear of freaking people out. And while the first part of the night leans into multi-layered performance art, the second part? That’s where Tamta flips the switch and throws the kind of all-out party only she can — diving headfirst into her entire pop discography like it was made for the club.
In the ever-evolving artistic universe Tamta’s been building, Villain — her new EP — lands as the latest piece of the puzzle. Dropping with the signature of the Identity Crisis crew, it’s not just a standalone release, but the first taste of a bigger, multi-dimensional project set to fully unfold in spring 2025. Here, things get rougher, darker, louder. The sound sharpens, the lyrics bite harder, and jungle breakbeats and hard techno references set the mood firmly in afterhours territory. It’s Tamta at her most fearless (so far).
But just when you think you’ve figured out her next move, The Heroine — her new EP dropping April 4, 2025 — flips the script again. Enter: hyperpop Tamta. All bright synths, candy-coated electronics, bouncy rhythms, J-pop energy, and leftfield collabs. This is her most extroverted, most playful, most colour-pop sparkle explosion era yet — and she’s clearly having the time of her life.
Tamta pairs her voice with melodies that feel descended from the songbooks of FKA Twigs, Lady Gaga, Bjork, Lorde, and heavy beats that borrow from experimental electronic music, industrial, and futuristic R&B. However, Tamta’s style is greater than the sum of its parts, celebrating her music’s simultaneous delicacy and strength. It’s perfectly obvious by now: she’s not just visiting. She’s here to stay.
