MAZOHA is the solo project of Thessaloniki-based musician Jimmy (Tzimis) Polioudis, active since 2017 and firmly positioned within the Greek alternative scene. Operating primarily as a one-man band, Polioudis writes, records and produces his music independently, developing a sound that is personal, immediate and intentionally unpolished.
His music moves fluidly between synth-punk, post-punk, indie rock and raw pop, resisting strict genre boundaries. Catchy melodic lines often collide with distorted textures, minimal synths and driving rhythms, while Greek-language lyrics address anxiety, desire, emotional exhaustion and the quiet violence of everyday life. The result is music that feels both confrontational and intimate, grounded in lived experience rather than stylistic pose.
Exceptionally prolific, MAZOHA has built a substantial discography in a relatively short time, releasing multiple albums, EPs and standalone singles. Rather than repeating a formula, each release subtly shifts direction, reflecting an ongoing process of experimentation while maintaining a clearly identifiable artistic voice.
On stage, MAZOHA is known for intense, high-energy performances that resonate strongly with a young and engaged audience. His shows frequently sell out and have extended beyond small venues to major stages, including appearances as a support act for international artists such as Pet Shop Boys and Idles in Athens.
Balancing DIY urgency with sharp songwriting and constant evolution, MAZOHA continues to stand out as one of the most distinctive and uncompromising voices in contemporary Greek alternative music.
