Sugar For The Pill are an indie shoegaze and dream pop band formed in March 2020 in Athens, Greece. Since their emergence, the band has become a notable presence in the country’s alternative music scene, recognized for their atmospheric soundscapes, layered guitars, and emotive, reverb-soaked vocals.
The band consists of Vana Rose (vocals), Spyros Mitrokotsas (guitars), Elias K (guitars), Stefanos Manousis (bass/keyboards), and Konstantinos Athanasopoulos (drums). Drawing influence from classic and contemporary shoegaze and dream pop acts, their music blends melodic sensibility with immersive sonic textures.
Their debut album, Wanderlust, was released in 2022 and features ten cohesive tracks that showcase the band’s ability to craft rich, evocative compositions. The album received positive attention within indie circles, helping the group build a growing audience both in Greece and abroad.
Following their debut, Sugar For The Pill continued to release new material, including standalone singles such as “Colours” (2023) and “Anelia” (2025), reflecting an evolution in their sound while maintaining their signature dreamy aesthetic. In 2025, the band entered a new phase with the release of their sophomore album, LUV, further solidifying their position within the modern shoegaze landscape.
As of the mid-2020s, Sugar For The Pill remain active, performing live and expanding their discography, contributing to the resurgence of shoegaze and dream pop within the European indie scene.
