Irene Skylakaki’s forthcoming album signals a decisive artistic shift, marking a new phase in both sonic direction and visual identity. Moving beyond the indie-folk textures that defined her earlier work, the new material leans into alternative electronic production, immersive atmospheres, and a more confrontational lyrical stance. The project is set to be released via Fine! Records.
The second single, Hell, offers a clear preview of this evolution. A high-intensity, rave-infused track, it transforms guilt into empowerment through the stark refrain, “I’m guilty and I own it. Shame.” The accompanying music video, directed by David East, was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, and forms part of a four-film visual narrative connected to the album’s overarching concept.
Together, the music and visuals introduce a darker, more club-oriented aesthetic, positioning the upcoming album as a bold reinvention and a cohesive audiovisual statement.
