In Stefanos Fotopoulos’ recent creation the piano appears to be a mere extension of the pianist, as the music dissolves into tenderness. A piece that lives up to its name: the absence of wind, the stillness born from holding one’s breath beneath the sea. A quiet meditation—where sound becomes serenity.

Stefanos Fotopoulos
Rooted in classical training and drawn to the emotional depth of traditional music, Stefanos Fotopoulos creates compositions that reflect both technical mastery and artistic sensitivity. He was born in Athens in 2003. He holds degrees in Piano and Harmony with distinction and is currently continuing his studies in preparation for his Counterpoint diploma.
He is an active member of the traditional music ensemble Ektos Ylis, performing regularly at various venues. In 2020, he participated in the First Listening music competition organized by the Second Program of Greek Radio, presenting the song “A Woman in Exarchia”, which was orchestrated by Achilleas Vastor and recorded by the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra under the direction of George Aravidis. That same year, at just 17, he released his first collaboration with Subways Music: a piano and Cretan lyra arrangement of the traditional piece “Syrtos Chaniotikos.” From the fall of 2021 he teaches music theory at the Erateio Conservatory.
In February 2025 he released his second piano creation “Ninemia” through Subways Music. Reminiscing the gorgeous and haunting performances of Stavros Lantsias, his work has a stunning warmth & beauty, as tender as a gentle embrace, blending stillness with movement, introspection with melody.
