VoxPopuli gets inspired by the 2022 strikes in Greece, where workers in the port of Piraeus as well as delivery workers carried out a request for the signing of the collective labor agreement and their inclusion in the heavy and unhealthy bonus regime. The track was released in 2023.

VoxPopuli
Twitchy and full of punchlines, VoxPopuli’s music feels like bridging the sweaty corners of Athen’s pulsing landscape with Detroit’s industrial scene. He describes himself as a hip-hop artist without hip-hop music, this way highlighting his experimental side – brewed from UK subculture music, 90s techno influences, trip hop and even ghettotech’s classic elements- sped-up electro, and distorted vocals.
His first album, the 8-track English-spoken “MoxieKult” came out in 2021, blending hip hop with club breaks and Bristol’s sub-bass sound. For his follow-up singles, “Saint George” and “Matomenes Fraoules” in 2022, and the latest “Punc” in 2023, he chose Greek lyrics to address even more directly his sociopolitical themes.
VoxPopuli is also one of the establishers of Radical Breaks Collective, promoting hip hop culture, with a funk and soul attitude and alternative mood. His role in the present hip-hop scene may be fully understood by those who closely witness his activities as an artist and advocate- you see, VoxPopuli is known for his DJ’ing prowess and beats as well as his forthright opinions.
