Looking for Joy

ANNA OIKONOMOU

Anna Oikonomou is an animator/illustrator currently based in Athens, Greece. She graduated from the Graphic Design and Visual Communication Department of the University of West Attica in 2022. Since then, she has been attending the MA program 2D and 3D Animationat the same university, while also working in the creative field of animation production in Greece. Her first film, “Looking for Joy” was awarded the Stratos Stasinos 2022 award for Best Student Film, and in 2024 she completed the production of her second short film titled “Cut the Tie”.

A girl lives the same day over and over, in a gloomy and colorless world. The pace gets faster, and the girl finds herself in a nightmare, in which different parts of her routine come to life and attack her. The only thing colorful in her world is her cat, Joy, who helps her wake up from the nightmare and find a way out.
