CIFEJ Moves to Athens:Elevating Children’s and Young adults cinema in Greece

The Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People (olympiafestival.gr/en/) is one of the most important film festivals in Greece. Held in Ilia, Peloponnese, this festival promotes films for children and teenagers while encouraging the growth of future creators, film lovers, and engaged citizens.

During the recent 27th edition of the festival, the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center – Creative Greece announced that the International Centre for Films for Children and Young People (CIFEJ) will move its headquarters to Athens. This center has previously been in Brussels, Paris, Montreal, South Africa, and Tehran.

Founded in 1955, CIFEJ is the leading international, non-governmental network for professionals who work with children and young people. Its goal is to achieve excellence in audiovisual production and education. The move of CIFEJ’s headquarters to Athens enhances Greece’s international role in the film and audiovisual industry, allowing the country to play a significant part in shaping the future of this field.
