A Century of Tradition and Sweet Creations in Kefalonia
Voskopoula, one of Kefalonia’s most beloved pastry shops, has a rich history that dates back to 1907. The story began when PanagisKappatos, the family’s patriarch, started selling surplus milk from his household in Dilinata, transporting it to the town of Argostoli in special containers. The exceptional quality of the milk led to growing demand, prompting the family to relocate to the city.
In 1910, the Kappatos family opened Kefalonia’s first pastry shop, “Voskopoula,” in the heart of Argostoli. Initially a dairy shop, Voskopoula expanded over the years, introducing a wider selection of traditional sweets. Generations of the Kappatos family followed in Panagis’ footsteps, ensuring that the shop became an enduring symbol of quality in the local community.
Now, with the fourth generation at the helm, Voskopoula remains dedicated to its original principles: offering high-quality, authentic Kefalonian desserts to locals and visitors alike. Over a century of experience and love for their craft has shaped the shop’s identity, while its commitment to tradition and quality remains unchanged.
At Voskopoula, they believe that quality isn’t a secret, but there is a secret to achieving it—and it’s reflected in every bite of their delicious creations.
